  2. Financial and Transactional Data

    Plaid Integration

    When you link a financial account via Plaid, we retrieve certain financial data (e.g., account name, balances, and transaction history) to help us better understand your financial context and provide supportive tools and experiences. We do not store your login credentials or account/routing numbers. We store Plaid access tokens in accordance with Plaid’s security recommendations, which allow us to securely maintain access to your linked accounts and update financial data as needed. Your use of Plaid is governed by the Plaid Privacy Policy.

    Stripe Integration

    We use Stripe to handle:

    • Stripe Billing – for payments and subscriptions
    • Stripe Connect – for linked accounts and payouts
    • Stripe Identity – for identity verification

    Upsted does not store or process card numbers or full bank account details. All sensitive financial data is handled by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS. Your use of Stripe is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the Services
  • Provide supporting features (e.g., financial insights, contextual education content)
  • Verify identity and comply with legal obligations
  • Improve functionality and user experience
  • Communicate updates and provide customer support

We do not sell your personal data.

Upsted does not store your Plaid or Stripe login credentials or sensitive financial identifiers (e.g., full bank account or card numbers). We do store certain financial data retrieved via Plaid (such as account metadata, balances, and transaction histories) and Stripe (such as invoices, payout records, and subscription statuses) in order to provide core features and services. All sensitive payment data is securely handled by Stripe in compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS).

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Withdraw your consent at any time
  • Object to or restrict certain data processing
  • Request a portable copy of your data
